Riverside Blooms is a micro flower farm on 2 acres in Washington Boro, Lancaster County. Our farm has been growing a variety of seasonal blooms in both high tunnels and field production since 2015. We specialize in high quality cut flowers for our own farm stand, regional farmers markets, and local designers. We are a small team - we work hard, have fun, and enjoy the rewards of a job well done!
Flower Harvester (Part Time/Seasonal) This individual will work directly with our lead Flower Farmer to harvest flowers in both our tunnel and field crops.
Schedule: Part-time seasonal employment, April through October. The applicant must be able to meet the following requirements:
Monday through Friday, 7am - 11am
While the farm is closed on Sunday, this individual may be asked to work an occasional Sunday, to complete minor farm chores, in the event the owner is away
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Harvesting and post harvest care of cut flowers
Record keeping and labeling
Bouquet assembly and basic floral design
General farm tasks as needed
Candidate Specifications:
Strong work ethic, hustle, and initiative
Ability to maintain consistent quality and aesthetic standards
Enjoys working outside (often in the heat/cold/rain)
Ability to persevere through tough and repetitive tasks
Strong problem solving skills
Enjoys working independently or as a member of a small team
Ability to communicate openly and in a positive manner
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, repeatedly
Qualifications:
2 years of production farming or production horticulture related experience
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Comfortable driving a full-size van
Pay will be based on experience
Farmers Market Sales Associate (Part Time/Seasonal) This position is for an individual with strong retail and customer service experience who is excited about flower farming. This position could be combined with other open positions for the right individual.
Schedule: Part-time seasonal employment, May through November. The applicant must be able to meet the following requirements:
Friday, 6 hours with flexibility between 9am - 5pm. Must be available a minimum of 3 per month.
Saturday, 6:30am - 2:30pm. Must be available 2-3 per month
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Market bouquet assembly
Market stand set up and prep
Maintain detail and accuracy in customer checkout
Operate basic POS system
Comfortable driving a full-size van
Candidate Specifications:
Strong work ethic, hustle, and initiative
Ability to maintain consistent quality and aesthetic standards
Enjoys working outside (often in the heat/cold/rain)
Excellent communication and social skills
Interest in flowers and farm education
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, repeatedly
Qualifications:
1 year of retail sales experience, in flower/agricultural industry a plus
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Pay will be based on experience
General Farm Laborer This position is for an individual who enjoys manual labor and has an interest in flower farming and agriculture.
Schedule: Seasonal Position, April through October
Monday through Friday, 9AM - 3PM (position is 6 hours/day with some flexibility on start/end time)
